Did Blizz re-enable this item to drop? To my knowledge, they disabled it a while ago.

I still think it's a troll and it's never been able to drop. It seems like every other update includes "fixed bug that prevented Murlocket from dropping."

It drops, I went in a game with a mate and it dropped for him.

Yes it still drops. I was running this with some people and everyone got a locket but me! I want a pet.

For the sheer novelty of it, now I want one too. Who is up for helping me find one? And, how does one go about finding one in the first place?

What?!?.... damn... I have killed Moontooth a bunch of times while doing my elite guide. Never once did I look at the blue items he dropped. wonder how many lockets I missed.

I found one, but how the hell can i search for it on the AH to sell it and see other prices?
Sold it for 10 mil in chat.

I have killed him several times but I never looked for the Murlocket.
Does he drop it often, or all the time or what?

Very rarely, but it drops

Is there a specific difficulty?

The item is shown as ilvl 45 or something.

So is it more likely to drop in Nightmare, or Hell diff? Or do I have to be inferno?

For those that DID get the drop, out of curiosity, what was your difficulty/monster power set at?
I have made 30 attempts at this item, 15 at Hell MP10, and 15 Inferno MP0, nothing.

I believe Anuiran with regards to the chance, but have silly superstitions and like to follow in the footsteps of someone who got it to drop. : )

I ran it on the weekend (Inferno MP3)
Found Moontooth first trip down.
He dropped the Murlocket first pop.

I know I got lucky - I've since run it another dozen times with no luck (trying to grab a 2nd Murlocket for a friend).

Sewers isn't a bad spot to get stacks before running the KW, then rinse and repeat.

I ran the dungeon a bunch of times on HC Hell Diff (3)

Found Moontooth 4 times in the first 10 runs. (Got 1 locket on my 4th kill)

After the kill I did another 8 runs without ever seeing Moontooth again.

Also leveled from 56 to 57, so was something to do. ;)


Last note: The Locket does nothing when given to a follower.

I personally ran inferno MP 6, found him around 15 times before I got mine.

Found him about 10 times yesterday, no luck yet.

Easy enough to search.
Put lvl limit in your search. Min and Max level req 45.
Then set to Magic items only.
Can probably put in 92 Int, Dex or Str if you want to reduce the number of amulets to search through.

Should be a relatively short list... at least, in theory. I searched on EU HC and SC AH but didn't see anything listed.

I was checking prices of the special blue items in the AH yesterday. Limiting searched to level of item and blue brings them up almost instantly. There is a HUGE premium for the Murlockets right now on the AH, selling at least for 10m.

Probably one of the easier things to farm for 10m......

Tried selling mine on HC AH.... then discovered my searching method was flawed.

If you search for magic amulets it doesn't show Murlockets. But it does if you just search for lvl req 45-45.

On EU HC AH mulockets were up for as low as 500k. Definitely not worth the grind for 500k.
