I have started doing these today and have found a bunch of Legendaries already. I average about 6 an hour from just running Core of Arreat over and over.
Open a game on Torment 6 and head to the Core of Arreat. Open Demonic Vessels and chests while running past all the monsters. Use a bunch of defensive skills and items and it's pretty damn easy.  I got those in a bit under two hours. |

Nice idea! I'm going to give that a go next login. =) How'd they roll? Any noticable difference compared to T1?

I have a belt that increases my damage by 113% for 10 seconds after opening a chest. That could be useful in case I get trapped.

I REALLY want to try this on my HC toon. I wouldn't go T6 though I don't know how much that affects drop rates. Would T1 be worthwhile?

Not sure. I know T6 has a better legendary drop rate, I just don't know how much better. It's worth trying for half an hour though. |

Looks like it's being nerfed later today.
Upcoming Hotfixes There is now an additional bonus 25% chance to find a Legendary item while in a Nephalem Rift. The number of chests that spawn in certain zones has been reduced. |

More incentive to completely clear a rift instead of just running till the boss spawns |
