I feel like this game is losing steam for me. I have beaten inferno, and have sixtied two characters with a third on the way. I play significantly less now than I did before and everytime I play I don't feel like there is any reward.
How did you people cure this in yourselves? I do like this game, and would like to find the magic in it again. |
How Do You Keep Playing?

I have a feeling that the great and powerful wizard (Blizz) still has some tricks up their sleeves...
Stay tuned. |

I have not grown tired of the item hunt yet, and the promise of PvP and new endgame stuff to do keeps me hopeful for the future.

If there was just some sort of social interraction in the game it would help so much... In D2 you joined random baal run games and interacted with people constantly. Now you just go solo because even going duo with a friend is SUICIDE because all the monsters are 2x as tough and you lose magic find unless they are also using MF gear.

@timbarton411 you brought up a very good point, I really hope they do something to help with the social aspect of the game. I remember in the reddit Q/A they said something to the effect of "We have plans for the future" but well.... who knows when that will be.

To be honest, I've kept going mostly because it is summer, and there isn't much else to do. Once term starts, we'll see how much my playing drops off.

As a starving student, there are times when I need to stay home on the weekends just to save money, and D3 helps with that :D (Especially since school is coming up in less than a month). Also, just the fact that I don't have the best gear keeps me playing. If I spent tons of money in the RMAH and had the best gear for every slot, there is literally no more point in playing until PVP. Even w/ crap drop rates, I don't mind spending a few hours every day to try and get some worthwhile drops. |

Able to farm act 3 easily but then sometimes I feel I'm tired of trying cause of the price spikes on the AH. So now, what I do is patiently waiting for the 1.0.4 and see where D3 goes

Well I just keep going on coz it's a lucrative game . Had already made probably 1k USD so far and it's just taking 2 - 3 hours of my daily time .
I had fun hunting the items I need and even more fun when i get items to sell . |

Starting new chars. Actually, really starting to enjoy the monk, and that resist passive looks deadly later-game.

I have been playing since release, but am not young enough to have all day everyday to play :P
I'm only just over 100 hours in, haven't cleared inferno, and am just starting to farm cool stuff. Have a 60 DH and Monk, the DH having been twinked out by my much more progressed Monk. I'm still just enjoying playing it the way they probably figured. |

Upgrading items and trying to beat inferno is keeping me interested for now, but I would like to seem some kind of PvP option in the future so the game doesn't feel like such a grind all of the time.

I have rage quit a few times, but then I read about a new character build and try it. My pan is to make enough money off rmah to payoff purchase of game, then do as many achievements as I can, then quit with a smile since I hate pvp.

I farm on my barbarian, to get more gold, upgrades, etc.... It is fun to me because when you do get that one "item" it feels like you just won the lottery, But when I do get bored I level alts and it really helps!

I just recently got into the game myself and what helps with is just playing with friends. Whether it be people from reddit or irl doing fun challenges and random stuff with friends makes the game keep some replay value.

For me, identifying rares is fun because you don't know what you get :D. Usually it's a bad roll, but then if you get a decent or good roll, it's feeeeels so good. I also like helping people who are stuck on ghom :D

The game is boring (item hunt) but I have had some fun leveling new characters (on my fourth). I am holding out for PvP which was my main draw to diablo 2. The upcoming patch also looks promising - they are addressing many of the issues the community has had. I think that is a positive step forward.

It's been dying down for me as well. I'm mainly playing because I don't have much else to do during this summer but the patch and future pvp keeps me hopeful.

You should try playing co-op. It is harder but a lot more fun, and it becomes a challenge to beat it. Act 3 co-op is especially hard though. |

I have joined public games for inferno... It was horrible, It was a bunch of people with 400 dps weapons being chased around by an elite pack, dying 50 times until they finally leave the game or lead the elite to some obscure part of the map. |
