I was wondering about the legendary crafted item. Would it make more sense to craft these after 1.04? I'm not sure if crafted legendaries will be changing or if the crafting materials would change. Obviously these factors would both make a difference.

Admins already answered this in other topics. The Legendaries will be crafted now, and there will be another contest in September (post 1.04)

However we will be having many more contests in the very near future with better prizes! Some of the prizes we are considering for the future contests (and maybe another contest starting very soon) are high level gems such as radiant star amethyst, emerald, ruby and topaz. As well as giving out blacksmithing and jewel crafting recipes, Gold and already id'd items that are good and worth a bit. If you have an idea for some awesome prizes we can do, let us hear em.

The ultimate prize would probably be a fully geared A4 inferno character
or an A2 MF gear character type deal

I don't want a prize that just gives me a character to play. A great amount of fun comes from building my own character even if that means winning 10 million gold and spending on an item I choose. When coming up with prizes, I would ask myself two questions, "will this help someone customize their character?" and "could this remind them of d3rmt.com?"

For instance, I'll remember who gave me the Sage's Grasp gloves I'm using my DH for as long as I would have them. Every time I see a radiant star emerald in my crossbow, I'll remember d3rmt gave it to me. I won't necessarily remember where 10 million gold came from, though I might remember the item I bought with it.

Now it's likely most of the crafted items and rares given away this month are going to be vendor, salvage or AH fodder, but they at least have the possibility of becoming something I'll keep for my characters. I like the idea of Radiant Star gems. Or a single item paired up with the new 1.04 Legendaries to emphasize what makes that Legendary unique. Package together a pair of gloves that are ideal for a Ranged Barb to go with a 1.04 Three Hundred Spear or an IAS item where IAS doesn't usually appear to go with the new Proc legendaries. The pair of items would be worth more than each item alone so there's more incentive to hang onto them and play around with them.

Those are my thoughts, anyway.

I have a sick idea for a special contest (christmas/new year contest, or future 1Y anniversary contest):

1st prize: 5 full sets of gear made of legendary/set items of your choice (one full set for each class).
2nd prize: 2 full sets of gear made of legendary/set items of your choice (2 different classes)
3rd to 5th: 1 full set of gear made of legendary/set items of your choice (1 class only, you can't ask for a quiver and a ceremonial knife, lol)
rest: mix of crafted 6-affix rares and 1 or 2 legendary/set items.

one set means 13 items, one for each slot.
the idea is that you get to equip each slot with a Legendary/Set item of your choice if you win.

I like the gem and recipe/plan ideas.

The gems and plans is a monster idea i would half kill to get some decent plans

Just got out of a game with Anuiran, and collected my prize! Very well run drawing, but I'll probably benefit WAY more from being able to come here and check out pricing. Thanks a bunch!

@anuiran I shouldn't have stayed up so early this morning. I am so damn impatient.

Many thanks for @Anuiran. He keeps apologizing for them being Un-ID'd rares. There's nothing more Diablo than Un-ID'd rares and I got nearly all iLvl 63! Ultimately, I didn't get anything much more than salvage, but it was still loads of fun to see all of the rares pop out of his inventory onto the ground. Greatest. Pinata. Ever.

To give everyone some idea how long he's been storing the rares, I received a +18-35 ring. Not +18 min, +17 max, but straight up +18-35. Practically a collector's item.

I did, however, manage to get one of the lowest dps 6-affix rare Revenant Bows possible coming in at 415.8 with 144 Str, 129 Dex, 272 Int, 2.7% Life Steal. For reference, a white Revenant Bow I picked up not 1 hour later comes with 379.4 dps. I highly doubt anyone will be able to top it!

@Anuiran Out of all the items, there was one really amazing item, i personally didn't need it because i stripped my barbarian but here it is, it sold for 14million on the AH.

This is not for bragging, it's just to show you, you had some great items in the UNID's.
