The most ridiculous elite pack for you

Personally I find that things like Fast/Nightmarish/Mortar/Arcanes can be a little bit silly to fight with my throw barb.

Jailer/Frozen/Molten/Arcane as one pack generally do it for me since i'm only given a 4 second window to annihilate the elites with serenity activated

Jailer/Molten/Desecrator/Horde(or Frozen) is the one for me. Worse if WoB is on cool-down.

my worst ennemy would be Horde Fast molten arcane

vortex (specially when combined with molten or poison) and fast are extremely annoying, the rest I can live with, although desecrator+jailer is not a nice combination.

but I have to say they improved it massively... now at least we have visuals on the range of the ice or explosion

Any elite doing hit and run tactics is already an annoyance to me .

The worst elite mob is the one with waller / desecrator / jailer / arcane . I tell you the wallers are irritating . They always seem to box you in the right time at the right place with a desecrator on your arse .

Try fighting any range elites that does hit and run tactics with molten and shielding . It's a turnoff for WW barbs .

Can't stand anything that freezes me - tough just sitting there watching your health bar go down and you can't do anything about it.

Reflect Damage can be tough if I don't see it in time and a bunch of minions explode all at once.

Fast/Horde anything is tough to kite (Trail of Cinders notwithstanding). The goatmen shaman things in Act 3 with practically anything are tough with their inherent buffs.

That said, there's nothing like invulnerable minions anymore that I can't kill even if it takes a death or two to do it. A nice change from 1.03.

Invulnerable minions were fun... zerging the main boss, a race against time. It was dificult due to the monster's self heal. But now would realy be do-able.

depends where... on small dungeons, it was tight, the minions were often meat-shielding the boss.
I hated that affix.

Reflect/mortar/fast

That combo would cost me quite a bit in repairs.

Succubus with firechain/molten/descrator/jailer. Hearing their death wails makes me a little bit happier.

You should try the fat caster ( the one casting some kind of defensive spell ) with shielding / molten / jailer , descrator .

I would just walk away and fight another elite . It's a waste of time .

@Fugu Those are trouble also. Especially when they have tertiary monsters around to cast on that defensive aura. As soon as I see them I know I'll have to die and regear with more armor and resists to kill them.

@Santient Invulnerable minions were awesome, and I was sad to see them go. Although they became frustrating at times, they posed a real challenge and were hard to effectively deal with.

I concur. I never lost a hardcore character to one of those but man did they get your adrenaline pumping...

Not really on topic, but what is up with those elite demented fallen in Act 2? I think they appear in the Storm Halls/Unknown Depths. I've never managed to kill them and it makes no sense to me why that mob can spawn as elite.

Ridiculous elite pack: I remember trying to fight a pack of Morlu Incinerators in a 4 player game with shielding, extra health, illusionist, and arcane. So like 14 M HP mobs that could teleport, throw meteors, and use arcane/shielding/illusionist. Not gonna say impossible, but I think we would probably have had an easier time fighting Butcher, Belial, Azmodan, and Diablo simultaneously.

This thread came to mind today. Act 3, ran into a reflect/mortar/fast/waller Hulking Phasebeast elite pack. Around the next corner reflect/mortar/arcane/firechain yellow champion pack of Phasebeasts! Had to take them down together, with enough energy left to give them taunt.

Ok, I'll admit it. I didn't take the screen shot while it was still living, but instead while it posed cause of a graphic glitch...ha. I ain't scared of no (phasebeast) ghost.

The elite pack wasn't the problem...it's what happened after that was interesting. The same thing that happened to @mindlessone.

It's great to see Nephalem and Demons from the Burning Hells getting along. Though, the enchantress seems to want nothing to do with the unholy union!

LMAO! I was thinking she was just having "girl problems" at the time of this screenshot.
