Rough Chart on HP Increase for MP

I did a rough chart to show the increase in HP for some of the monsters. These were rough estimates (since every monster has different HP), but I tried to average at least a few of each. The HP is in thousands.

HP seems to increase by somewhere between 30-50% per level, and then approximately doubles from MP 9 to MP 10. I wasn't able to follow the same elite pack through 10 MP levels, but I do have some notes on that. Here is my basic impression of the Monster levels.

0-3: Pretty easy. If MP3 is Act 3 current, then 1 and 2 are Act 1/2 respectively.
4-6: Noticeably slower. The damage was manageable, although that demonic tremor elite in that room in Keep Depths 3 was pretty tough (8.4M HP at MP 4 with no extra health, 20M HP at MP 6 with extra health). Died about 4 times on MP4, 6-7 times on MP 6)
7: Hard. I lost some survivability (StI nerf as well as some of my gear inexplicably missing), but even some tough regular mobs were wiping me out (skull cleavers, demonic tremors). Took me about 2-3 times longer to clear one level as opposed to current Act 3.
8: Very hard. I encountered a demonic tremor pack that I just gave up on. 410 resist, 4500 armor, and 43k hp and this pack was 2 shotting me. Did not clear level.
9: Very hard again. Same as 8, dying a lot, moving even slower.
10: Insane. Regular tremors two shot me. The very first pack of white mobs took me a few minutes. Unplayable with current spec. Regular tremor: 9M HP. Quillback Champions: 22M HP. Cleavers: 7M HP.

Normally, I have about 480 resist, 6500 armor, and 43k HP which gives me about 850k EHP with dodge. I believe the nerf+missing items has reduced my EHP to about 600-650k. All in all, my impression was that above MP6, it's actually pretty difficult because I think more survivability is necessary, but you can't sacrifice everything for defense since monster HP increases.

I'd love to hear feedback from anyone else, especially from different classes.

Honestly I expect Blizzard to do some tuning before this patch goes live. The decreased killing speed from MP4+ does not seem worth the extra bonus to MF what so ever.

@Anuiran

Yeah I agree. MP 3 really feels the most comfortable; MP 4-6 is okay, but the tradeoff doesn't seem to be worth it. MP 7+ just seems stupid... I think even top tier players with 150k+ DPS and great armor/resist/hp will find that it's just too damn slow...

Yeah, not enough return on investment past MP5. Its basically just a "badge of honor" after that. In a virtual world, I care less about honer and more about profit.

Now I know this is probably a bit rhetorical on their part. But Wyatt Cheng said from the PC Gamer interview:

"...but it might have taken, I don’t know, three hours to kill Diablo. So you conclude after that, 'Okay, I did it. But it wasn’t very efficient, and it wasn’t very fun. So I’m going to turn the Monster Power back down'..."

Yeah, I think I'll turn it a little down. Just a little.

I think it's fine, many well-geared players complained about the constant nerfs in difficulty since 1.0.3.
now they give them something so hard they can not complain anymore :)

@Venoom I think some people may have an issue with the fact that HP increases way more than damage on the top levels. They made a good point in the interview that nobody likes being one shot, but on the other hand if you don't have to worry about dying, then the huge HP just makes things feel tedious or at least slow paced. From what I've seen, even someone with 500k DPS is going to take a lot longer to go from MP 9 to 10. Since HP pretty much doubles, that doesn't justify the MF/exp bonus.
