So farming keys to open portals. Wanted to get some thoughts from you'll.

I think best method is to farm 3 sets to ensure you get all three portals. Is that correct?

It's taking a long time, but I would love to portal share and would love even more if I got invited for other portal runs.

Please piost any tips tricks or other key farming methods.

Oh mplvl is important. A3 I farm mp3. Haven't been in act2, but was able to do a1 on mp5 though it was too slow imo.

Opening three portals at once is for sure the best way to do it. Easier if you have 2 friends to help and use their machine also.

i agree this is probably the most efficient method... i have 2/3 keys btw, and the plan...but i probably wont be on till late tonight

i just need act2... which one are you missing? maybe we can farm it together?

So you can open 3 portals (1 from each player) so that you are certain to verse each set of double bosses?

I am just an act 3 key away from having a completed device myself. Though I am only farming monster level 2, and haven't been getting lucky in act 3 for some reason.

@anuiran is a keywarden locating bloodhound... it took me like 30 mins just to find them the first time i tried... with him, 2 seconds

Does anyone have a good route for a quick 5 stack in Act 2? I feel like I do a lot of walking around looking for elites there.

Also on the hellfire ring (got my first one today/fairly useable as well) when it cast the flaming ball...is it supposed to hit something? Mine just fires straight and continues off screen. One out of twenty seem to actually hit a target, but I can't even tell if its doing damage.

For act two I have two different routes. One is if you pick the Kulle quest, find the Vault of the Assassin to get the checkpoint and five stacks. If you don't kill Kulle you should be able to spawn back into Vault of the Assassin when you make a new game.

Other way to get fast five stacks is to go to the Black Canyon Mines where there'll be at least one, usually two but hopefully three rare packs. After that I like to go to Road to Alcarnus to actual Alcarnus where theres at least one rare pack there and sometimes a second. If I don't have five stacks, I'll go to one of the Terminus's branches to get the rest.

@Mindlessone I've seen a barb using it and it explodes pretty much instantly. It does around 20k damage in about a 15 yard range as far as I could tell. Are you playing a ranged class?

this is what I do, too.

@Sabin Yeah I main my demon hunter. I'm not targeting way off screen though.

@Nightcrawler9 Thanks for the info on the alcarnus elite. I start there, hit the black canyon mines quickly, and then (even if not at 5) the Oasis. There's enough elites there as well. I just can't stand so many withering deceivers though.

@Mindlessone I don't actually have a ring and I only saw 1 person using it. You could try testing it out with the slow A1 zombies to figure out if there's a way to make it hit more reliably. The damage is nice but it doesn't scale with DPS. With your gear it might not be worth changing your playstyle to make it hit more often, if that's even possible.
