So I read all these posts of people saying they do 70-80m an hour, but after some investigation (read: watching some youtube videos), people are really just showing 3 minute clips and extrapolating to hourly gains, neglecting the time to pickup, identify and trash away items. I fine that hard to compare since I play more casually and don't do full xp runs.

I do my current Alkaizer run (sometimes adding keeps 3) on mp1 and get around 9m exp in ~12 minutes. I mainly pick up rares 1h weapons, jewelry, gloves (and legendaries). Oh, I'm a ww barb with ~90k dps, I wear a radiant ruby + 2 hellfires (one on follower), and I sometimes gear switch (only helm, amulet, and mh) to get that extra 120% mf :)

Anyways, I'm looking for comparables - how do you like to do your alkaizer runs and how much exp do you gain per run? the more detail the better.

Your 9m XP in 12 minutes is not bad at all.

Mine is around 8m per 10 minutes using Monk's DW build. You can see futher details in my previous post:

Alkaiser Run : XP gained

I am now switching to Monk's 2H Skorn Tempest Rush, I have not compared the efficiency in terms of XP, but I think Tempest Rush is faster and more enjoyable to me.

What I pick up:
1) Set
2) Legendaries
3) Non-class specific 1H, Amulets, Rings, Bracers, Gloves, Shoulders, Pants.

What I skip:
1) Chest except respendant
2) Gold (I relied on pickup radius of as far as 20 yards)
3) dead bodies
4) all other rares
5) events
6) 2-3 mobs which are out of my path
7) not sure if I miss anything else
8) wait I don't skip goblins ... they are meant to be killed.

I do not need to use portal throughout the run (use only waypoints), except right at the end when I finished at Keep Level 2 I just cilck portal (and during the channelling I clear my bag of junks which I accidentally pick up).

I do the standard Alkaizer run. Start at the core, go to the Tower, and so on. After I've finished with the keep depths 2 and Fields of Slaughter I'll sometimes go to Skycrown Battlements if I feel like it. Otherwise I'll just start a new game.

I usually do my runs on MP1 (though I did start to do them on MP2 the other day) and I'll get around 11 million experience per run which takes me about 15 minutes or so.

i try not to focus on xp/hour cuz then i feel so rushed... i like to click on EVERYTHING since i'm paranoid that that chest I missed had a godly item in it :P i got problems...

I'm too lazy to measure the actual amount of XP I'm getting per run, but I measure it by the bars I get per run. Single player runs I get about 4 bars (Monk Lv.20s) in under 30 minutes of game play. Picking up all rares and killing all elites.

Since the tempest rush build is so fast anyway I add Skycrown and Stonefort to the runs, and the goal is to try and chain as many kills as possible and then go back to pick up loot. Since legendaries don't always ping it is kind of a good idea.

I do click on nearby chest when I need to wait for the elites to finish their explosion, and holla, a 2h legendary just popped from a regular chest for me this morning. But this doesn't stop me from skipping chests!

Yah, I'm the exact same way--click on every chest, corpse, barrel, coffin, pile of bones, etc....*just* in case. Indeed, I've gotten so few legendary or set items in this game (never went for MF gear at all), and one of the few that I have gotten (though crappy) was from a barrel in Act I Inferno...which sort of reinforces that habit of checking everything that's clickable...!

I love the sound. Sometimes when I've gone awhile without getting a legendary I'll drop one down to hear it again haha.

If you want to have fun like someone did with me.

When running ubers with friends have a few unided legendary items in your bag. As the ubers die drop them onto the ground. Then pick them back up and enjoy the chat that follows.

Can you actually drop some of your old organs on the ground?
And if you can, will the other people see/hear them even though they won't be able to pick it up?

Because that will cause even MORE chatter I think, by dropping an organ when the 1st boss goes down, and creating the legend that sometimes you can get 2 organs in one run.

Idk if you can drop the organs but if you can then other party members can see them. It's like you drop something (rare/legend/set) for other player.

@zerokewl who the hell would do something so cruel *cough cough*

@bort as far as I know you can't drop organs anywhere, it will say "item is not allowed here" I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's not possible
