I personally play the markets, to make more gold, to get my character better gear ;p I don't think anyone is looking for a "get rich quick scheme" with the Diablo auction house.

Exactly.

This is a good tool to know When you should sell something and when it's better sell another thing.

The 10 items limitation requires us optimized timing for selling :)

I am working on an application that well help people out at predicting when to buy and sell.
Like the stock market software.

@timbarton411 yes hourly updates was abandoned, we do not have enough staff members to update prices every hour. Nor do we wish to write a bot to read the auction house for information, as we do not support bots in any form. We tried it for a while, but we were just not able to keep doing it. Perhaps in the future with a larger staff!

Do you have someone manually check and log all the item prices each day? Hourly updates were very nice, but the daily updates are still better than anything else out there.

Wow, didn't realize that this site existed! What a great tool. I'm wondering if it would make sense to track legendary or set items, especially with the new legendaries coming out with 1.4.

At the moment we only track the plans for legendary items. But once the patch for the legendaries comes, i think we'll start tracking those as well (Maybe?) Who knows, we'll see how things go i suppose!

Yes that's my job! I had a few people help and we did hourly updates for a while but it was far too much work to keep up with, hence we will be doing daily values for both the North America and Europe auction house. Artishir will be handling the European price updates, as I said in my previous post we are very much against bots and hence we do not wish to automate the process.

The price tracker is really cool :) I think it'd be even cooler if it tracked some generic rares. eg, 1200dps bow. 1100dps bow with 500 loh, 1000 dps bow with socket and 80 crit damg, etc.

the Price Tracker rocks, thanks for this! now I can optimize my time wasting at work! definitely gonna try some gem trading or something. it takes forever for me to make enough gold to upgrade these days.

how far back do the prices go?

@dralantharp, July 10th is when we started price tracking. Some items we started a bit later, but pick your time range on any item will show the earliest date.
