Anyone else getting an insane amount of ivory towers? I've gotten 4 or 5 now (out of maybe total of 20 legendary drops) since 1.0.5. As another datapoint, my buddy told me he's had over 10 Ivory towers...
Part of me thinks Blizzard is just trolling with a slightly higher drop rate for this item. Look at the design, it looks like a level 61 Sacred Shield with really crap stats. |

Out of all the Legendaries i've found so far.. (it's quite a lot, i think...?) there would have to be an increased drop rate for the below items;
- Ivory tower - Dawn - Triumvirate - Ageless might (@baldy 's fav!) - Strongarm Bracers - Hellrack - Frostburn Gauntlets - Gidbin - Stormcrow Ivory Towers do drop way too much, i've had 2 in a single run along with 2 ageless mights, thats just a kick in the balls! |

Its all about Storcrow's and Dawns for me. Other than that, the 3 IK belts and 2 Inna pants are the closest to what I would call consistent. I've found 8 non-crit chance and non-socket storm crows. Ridiculous...

My best guess is that at ilvl 61+, it's one of only 2 shields that can be dropped legendary in Inferno. If the RNG chooses shield, legendary, ilvl 62 or lower, then it only has one option - Ivory Tower. There are probably similar armors, but if the Shield drop rate is higher than the other armor drop rates, then Ivory Tower will appear with unusually high frequency. You could very well be seeing a legitimate, systematic crapload of Ivory Towers drop.

I know the feeling, Ivory Towers and Ageless Mights drop the most for me followed by Sledge of Athskeleng. My brimstone collection keeps growing.

Looks like Ageless Might is the same as Ivory Tower. If a legendary mighty belt drops in Inferno it can only be Ageless Might (ilvl 60) or Lamentation and Lamentation is ilvl 63 so Ageless Might is going to drop pretty regularly. I think Blizzard increased the drop frequency of class-specific items which means mighty belts are going to have a relatively higher drop rate than a lot of other armors.

I haven't seen Ivory Towers for a long long time. I used to see them in Act 2.
In Act 3 I used to see Worthless Might quite often, then somehow it switched to Triumvirate, then recently Lacuni Prowlers. Maybe there is a pattern, or it is just simply RNG! |

Yesterday I got my first (crap) Ivory Towers, act 3 inferno MP1. Oh, and at the same drop, a WoodWorm staff dropped too. Two legendaries at once, that happiness didn´t last for two long... Irony is that Ecoing Fury is the one (three) i got the most till now, none great, but still....
