@yoyo

Yours was the first ever kind of rush/powel level I have ever received, but even just standard leveling.......I get to lv 21....I equip born's, lv 23 cain's and I leave those equipped until around 50 to 54 (typically....about the time I enter hell....it's time to regear. I play smart though and don't take chances while leveling.

Well, we have moved far away from the Survival tips thread, but interesting topic... running naked.
I did something that confused a lot of people in public games.

I have 2 accounts (one for me, one for my wife) So do get more XP I joined with my wife's account but just sitting in town. And people just can't seemed to figure out (even though I explain every time anyone joined me) that it is for xp boost, and that the character will never join any events.

I don't always join the game that char, but so far that character has made it to level 9 and the char has 0 kills, and never stepped out of town.

@bort

hmm, I was under the impression that you couldn't gain experience just sitting in town. This was one of the first things they fixed when the game first came out no?

Its been so long since I have been power leveled I don't remember that being the case. Interesting, I wonder if you can get to lvl 60 without killing a monster. Haha now THAT would be a feat.

Actually thats my new plan. Every time I start a new char from now on, I will add that one to the game.

Progress so far. One partial run through normal diff = lvl 9.
Couldn't take him with to nightmare, since you have to be lvl 25 to enter a nightmare game. :)

TIP: Use of WPs

A1: Take the Cemetery WP then walk to the Field
A longer walk, but much safer!

A1: Hall 2 WP, you might want to skip this unless the whole team is in support of zooming in together
To avoid nasty Elites who spawn right at the WP in that narrow corridor

So I was in this MP5. We finished the Festering. Sometimes I skip Weeping when I am pressed on time and go to the Field first (since Weeping only yields about 70% of Field in terms of XP/ hour). Somehow in that game I WP to the Field instead of Cemetery, although I was not running out of time. My teammates WP to Cemetery instead to run Weeping.

At the WP I saw these nasty little creature burrowing. The next thing I know is they were jumping all over me with freeze balls and poison pool. While I was moving I attracted an even bigger mob of savage beasts. I saw my teammates were engaging elites at the Cemetery from their Icon, and one of my teammates was shouting "Damn Douvinsky", I was alone and I had to figured a way out of this situation. I shouldn't walk towards the Cemetery, that would be too dangerous even if I could attempt perma TR there, if I attracted more mobs and got rooted by some allies I would be dead.

My HP dropped to 50%. I made a little steps here and there, and while some of those creatures were burrowing and the bull was charging at the wrong direction, I made a dash to the WP and click on New Tristam (or whatever it is called), ran to the healer, then calmly asked "is it safe to banner". Then I reminded my teammates to take the cemetery waypoint later to go to the field if they wanna live longer.

@douvinsky
I've been playing in a-lot of PUG groups lately and for whatever reason, they all love just dropping into fields via WP. I prefer cemetary for the reason you stated and one more......by going through the cemetary, you can then run the field like weeping.....run edges, then work your way inside, that way you don't miss anything. Thank you @yoyo for teaching me that little trick.

TIP : Beware of PKers

So I joined this co-op game Act 1.

There were four of us, there was only one P(6) Barb fighting at the Field and the rest of us were at town.

The banner said the barb was engaged in fights, but not fighting against elites. Usually I would ask if it is safe to banner, and I would banner when the member confirms it is safe. Now looking back I am glad that I didn't ask.

Knowing how dangerous are those trees at the Field, I decided to use the waypoint. I saw the barb was off my screen on the left so I made my move towards him. There I saw, the barb was rallying up an army of trees + mobs! It would be extremely dangerous if I had banner right on top of him. I quickly dash my way back to the waypoint and went back to town.

I checked his profile and I saw a 3k DPS barb.

Lesson learned: always checked their profile and see if anything suspicious, and use banner/ WP discretely. Field is the most dangerous zone to be PKed since they have all those beast with stun and trees with flowers, amidst the high density of mobs.
