@Khan @Jhonka

You guys did highlight a main point - it is free stuff, hence we should not factor in 'fairness', whatever the arrangement is. I think I was too affected by my real life work (distribution of wealth between various group of interests/ generations of people) that I even bother to mention fairness for this free stuff. My bad.

In this regard I do accept complete RNG ~ in the spirit of Diablo! It just depends on gnawol how he would like to do this RNG at the end of the day.

Yup, that's exactly what I said: "Don't look a free gift horse in the mouth." Regardless of whether the items are useful for my DH or not, there's always the option to try selling it on the AH, salvaging it into FB, or trading it with friends, so I'm definitely not going to complain about whatever it is I get (assuming I'm lucky enough to win in the first place, of course). :)

@eastdragon42

I could have understood what you were saying before making comments which made myself look silly. I searched the web to see if what you said is a proverb, and bingo:

"Don't look a free gift horse in the mouth."

~~~~~~
Believed to have been first printed in 1546 by John Heywood - a man employed in the court of Henry VIII, the proverb instructs the recipients of gifts to appreciate what they have received, without further examination, in order to ascertain its true monetary worth.
@douvinsky
didn't even know that this proverb exists in english much less I know it exitst for such a long period.
Here we say "Einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul." hihi and that's why in my opinion it doesn't matter how good the gift is I've gotten otherwise I wouldn't take part in a giveaway :)
@h3110 Einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nichts ins Maul passt hier sehr gut ;-)
Thank you everyone for the valuable feedback, I think i will go with @mantice suggestion, i'll let each winner pick one item he/she wants and the rest will be randomly assigned to each person
ID'ing the items might result in me finding something i want and might get attached to it like @douvinsky says, which is why i prefer to just raffle it off as UNID.
The Contest will start shortly ;-)
Oh, I wasn't referencing you at all in my post, really. I was commenting on @gnawol 's original post, actually. No worries! I just honestly want to make it as easy on @gnawol as possible :-D
As Khan said, no big deal; just a proverb that us old folks know... :) Interesting that you found the source on when it was first printed; never knew when it originated. Did the website that told its history also explain its meaning? If not, here's the original story that I was told concerning it: in the old days, when a person was looking to buy or barter a new horse, one would check to see if the horse was healthy by checking its teeth & gums; however, if the horse was a gift, it was considered a bit rude to check the health of the horse, since it was free to begin with. Hence the saying "not to look the horse in the mouth"... :)
either way
@gnawol decided and we'll bear with him.
@eastdragon42 that's exactly the story I was told to be the background of this proverb.
