The streamers InigoMontoya and GoodIdeaGaming just confirmed the dupe by doing it on their streams. It's possible to make infinite amounts of gold very quickly right now, please do not post the method in these forums.
Blizzard will have to do something soon. Note: This bug was not on PTR or any previous patch and is brand new. |

So it's not really worth playing since whatever levels you gain are going to be reset. Fortunately, I only got 1 level on my Tempest Rush Monk and half a level on my DH. So is the dupe bug only on the RMAH? Then they'd at least be able to just rollback, shutdown the RMAH and let the rest of us play the game.

Ho boy. The transaction only went to my b.net balance, but I did get an email notice on a completed auction selling a Radiant Star Ruby for $1. If money started flowing over PayPal, there's going to be a lot of handwringing over a server rollback. I would hope Blizzard has a clause in their contract for that.

Not possible. The gold floor drop only happened on live and is directly related to that. |

They messed up the minimum price for Gold? Really? REALLY? Likely hundreds of thousands of hours of gameplay rolled back, because they didn't vet what would happen if they changed the minimum price on Gold sales. Well, at least I know why they haven't shoved it into a regular maintenance. |

Then how can the dupe have been found so quickly? Servers have only been up for 5-6 hours. Why could this exploit not have been found on the PTR? I simply don't get it. I am on the outside looking in, it seems. |

From what I've gathered, it would be very easy to stumble upon it by accident. Not discussing the mechanics of the exploit in this thread, but it's certainly posible for someone to have discovered it within an hour of the server going live, especially with the official RMAH price of Gold now below the unofficial price pre-patch. I think we have the ability to price Gold down to 0.025 USD / 1 million. I expect the true price was around 0.05 USD / 1 million before the patch. |

Changing the gold stack selling size from 1 million to 10 million allows you to sell an amount of gold that overflows the auction house.
That is why this exploit never existed before. |

Ok but what the hell does the gold dupe have to do with why the price of gems and so on has sky rocketed?
Or is it that there are so many people who have used it the everybody has billions of gold now and wont to splash it arround.........................................If so please give me some im so poor at the moment! |

No way to tell. Bans suggest there might not be a rollback. No idea. Play if you're having fun, don't if you'd be devastated if there is a rollback in the future.

I doubt there is going to be a roll back and most likely a very limited ban. No roll back because most people bought items (gems/etc) with their gold. The smart one's did. That will be near impossible to change. Not to mention the people that bought stuff of the RMAH through paypal (ie bought gems and sold them). This is also the reason prices for gems sky rocketed people were buying them like crazy with all the duped gold. (its the real currency in D3)
All blizzard will do is ban the people who way overused the exploit. They can't ban someone for using it once, twice or thrice....b/c the mistake was on their part. So mess up once u try once or twice again to know its for real....There is no hacking or 3rd party program involved here. Can't ban people for finding your screwups. They will get hit hard legally. Bottom line is economy is ruined in the short term...Gold was eventually going to bottom out to 10mil/0.25cents...now it will happen a whole lot faster. |

I had a Echo I couldn't sell worth more then 600 mill for two goes straight, I sold it for 800 mill in two minutes coz everyone was cashed up. wish I asked for 2 bill now :(
