Yea..........and I was advising @zerokewl the same of NOT to TR, although at that time I wasn't aware of the WW/TR bug.

TR is actually a great escaping tool (minus the rubber banding).

Personally my take on TR:

1) Allow me to not equip Inna Pants for the additional movement speed (on top of the 12% move speed on boots), and go with BT pants instead for the EHP, since I can move around fast enough with TR in a battle or on the move

2) I can easily outrun the path of arcane sentries and frozen balls with TR (minus the rubber banding)

3) At the Field in Act 1, I like to knockback those Savage Beast just before they charge at me

4) In co-op, I can easily catch up to the centre of battle and pull (in my run with bears and/ or bats WDs, we are usually seen to be catch up to each other, depending on whose in the frontline for new packs e.g. if firebats is already spraying I will TR to the WD and start my vortex, or if I already start vortex the WD will spirit walk to my location and start vomitting bats.

@zerokewl While your monk is not as much fun for you, I like her just fine - not so hard to keep up with! :)

NonTR monk is fun, just not nearly as fast and efficient.

We were blasting at MP7 with two WDs.

At the Field, there is a place with a small hill and narrow path. I walked up there (not sure if all of us actually walk up there). I think we fight some mobs and/or elites at the end of the exit, and I was seeing flowers started spawning at the path.

I sensed some danger. I was making my exit TRing out of those pools and out of the hill. Suddenly I see your HP started getting down slowly. It must be the pools! I somehow couldn't even see where you were on the map, maybe too many flowers on the ground? and I wanted to yell "get out from there!"

It is sad to see someone dead in the party. For a moment the rest of us thought you DC. You told me later that you were somehow stuck. Next time I will take a good look at the hill, sometimes there could be some area which create some natural block in some direction, that's my guess.

If you need help back up, let me know. I was trying to P leveled your new monk but I was so clumsy at it that I got you killed by maniac at level5-6.

Yep, RIP (paragon 59) Facepalm. It was a nice run, enjoy your dirt nap lol.

yeah, I was trying to get out of that mess and I somehow got snagged on the corner of that middle terrain. I think there are actually steps. I think everyone has gotten snagged on something in the game where it does that weird little shaking back and fourth for a second or two and that's all it took. I hate trees.... Especially mp7 trees haha.
Oh well, time to reroll. :)

Just lost my WD in a MP5 pub game. It was in Fields and near end of the game. Most ppl were leaving and I decided to clear the remaining middle patch myself. Group of bull elites with molten and some other stuff. Spirit walked to the middle and started casting bats. For some reason I just started to take a lot of dmg (LS not enough?). Started to panic when I saw red. Tried to walk away and popped SV. Made a HUGE mistake of running into unexplored area. I tried to double back around to cleared areas but everything on CD and bunch of moon clan spears and leapers on my tail. Just when spirit walk came back on a leaper got me.

136hrs and P67. Lived for ~7months. It was a good run and honorable death. Now I really want to win that cold wpn competition for a monk starter set, lol.

Field is a very nasty area.
Let me know if you need powerleveling of some sort, now that I have geared up a WD which is a more suitable class to help in powerlevelling.

How do you go on the cold competition? I have 932,870,853 (2H) and 700.6,696 (1H). Shamefully, I bought all the cold weapons from the AH. I didn't get any high DPS cold weapons from my normal run.

RIP brother, that's a shame. One less powerful HC WD to run with. When I lost my para 59 monk it was in the middle area of the fields as well. Like Douvy said, a very nasty area indeed.

I'm not sure if I wanna play another WD but for now I'll be using my barb.

I actually got some lucky drops recently: a ~1090 dps 2h and a >700dps 1h. I was thinking I have a chance but looking through the thread now there are at least 3 ppl with >4500 total. I was really tempted to buy the >1000dps 2h's on the AH but they were too much of a gamble for the price. But in the end someone actually bought them. Haha, so now I need to find like two more high dps 2H's in order to stand a chance.

Dang man....sorry to hear that.....I logged off right after you left to go find another game. I threw that 800 dps butcher's that I found in our game up on the AH, but don't really expect it to sell. If it doesen't, you are welcome to it. As others have said....if you decide to level another char....i'll help.

Locking high Plvl guy = less MF% though. Locking P100 is perhaps smart to prepare for Paragon 2.0, if only alive characters count.

@Grumpy Haha yea, I shouldn't have looked for another game after Drak went afk. I was being hasty and didn't even change my build. Normally I wouldn't run bats in a pub game with no cyclone monk.

@zerokewl Thx man. I read a lot of discussion about storing high lvl P chars in HC until the expansion comes. I don't know though, it's not gonna be here anytime soon so unless it's really high level or pretty much 100 I don't think you can resist playing it.

EDIT: Got second place at the contest. Lost my WD but gained 250mil and 9pieces of good monk gear. WOOOO

Notes to self:
-dont run mp5 with only ~50k hp
-don't stop in middle of a horde of zombies to check stuff

First time I died to trash mob lol. I was way over my head with WotB invincibility.

If you feel burnt out leveling, try my WD's powerlevel (at your own risk!).

IDK, I might be cursed with having at most 3 alive chars for use. Lol. I think my next plan is to convert my monk into a ZDS one like yours, since a few ppl have asked me to play support.

Man....sorry to hear about you loss.......I got SUPER lucky last night......In a game with 2 friends who had gone to town and I stayed in fields to kill a few trash mobs.....had 4 on me when the power went out.....I wanted to cry cause I knew I was gonna be dead.......power came back on....logged back in and my friend was like "YOU ARE 1 LUCKY SOB" He saw my health dropping and got to me with less than 1k left......
Thanked him over and over then said.....I need a shot of Rum and gonna call it a night.........wise choice......10 minutes later....lost power again for 45 minutes.

No no you should rely on luck on RNG, but you better avoid relying on luck in battles. In co-op, avoid killing anything by yourself. I have seen players on my friendlist die to this (@razer22 is one, and another top end WD was left behind in the field and murdered by a pack)

Yes ZDS monk is an option. There are a few type of ZDS variants - there is a post at the monk forum on ZDS monk. My build is a niche build for CoB play, not mentioned in the forum by others except me. It could be pretty cheap to gear up and pretty tanky, although if I really want to get hold of some dream gears pertaining to my build it would cost me a further half a billion (not really necessary except if I want to sink my gold). I can handle MP10 crypt now (it was once an impossible goal for me) with the tanky gears + high DPS CoB members.

Not many players understand and welcome ZDS monk especially in PuB, so choose wisely. If you are following the official hardcore forum you might have seen some of my posts. My latest comment is in this post Help with ZDS monk
