![]() Alright, I'm throwing the towel in. Really hate the way that one ended though. I don't even know how it ended. |

Congrats to the winners! It was a fun challenge--due to work & server down time, didn't really have time to attempt it til this morning. Learned the hard way that one's D3 settings have to be in Fullscreen (Windowed) mode as opposed to just Fullscreen mode in order for CTRL-Print Screen to properly capture one's window. :-0 Still, I think I found the perfect spot for actually completing the task (Forsaken Grounds, destroy the Plague Nests) at just the right magic power & whatnot to get a steady stream of monsters out w/o dying & w/o having a lapse in kills. Too bad I didn't discover this til the contest was pretty much over, though....

If anyone wants to try next weeks challenge... Think of it as a "Level 1 speed kill"
Kll Skeleton King at level 1 on normal mode. No Hellfire rings or high level gems are allowed, only the gear the character starts with is allowed. If you wish to enter you must make a video of the entire fight, the 3 fastest times will receive a prize. |

"Kill Skeleton King at level 1"--you mean one's hero can only be level 1? It seems like as soon as you try to get past the opening sequence to enter New Tristam you're already at level 2, no...? |

@Eastdragon42, correct.
It requires entering a game that is already cleared up to the Skeleton King room (Have a friend open a game for you). You do not have to do all the quests till the Skeleton King. Simply kill the Skeleton King solo on a level 1 character in a video. |

Sweet! nice to know my efforts weren't for nothing. Thanks Anuiran!
I actually tried one more time after my 2039 record and got to 1700 before I killed myself because I had to go. I feel confident that I could have gotten to 3000 if I had the time. At least that was my goal. Also @eastdragon42, You actually don't need to be in windowed mode to screenshot. If you press the screenshot button there'll be a file in the Diablo 3 folders in My Documents saved. Edit: Would also like to point out to the people that didn't notice that I did mine on MP10 :P. |

Really? Did not know that...will have to check later. Unsure if there's a D3 folder created in the My Documents folder when one is playing the game off of an external harddrive, is there...? Anyway, thanks for the info, NightCrawler9! I learn something new every day on these forums, it seems... :) |

It is there. D 3 stores your settings in this folder too. |

Festering Wood? High or low MP? Just killing bats mainly? How long did that take ya.

That was FW on MP5 and best guess that took about an hour? Probably less though. Convenient that you can hit the lil ESC button to catch a break and I must say I cheated a little... a pen cap and a stapler were my "weapons" of choice. ;-)

Better be careful.. I'm not sure if Warden can detect those "3rd party tools"... Did the enemies stop coming, or did you just decide to stop? When I tried I just used thorns and around 1k kills there happened to be a long enough break in skeletons to end it. |

Are you old enough to remember using a pencil or pen on that arcade game "track and field"? |

I was making my stand and there were 3 plague nests off screen to the left and one above me. My sweeping wind cyclones eventually killed off the top nest and I was able to keep it up for a while but then one of the other ones finally cacked and it was all over from there so i "blitzkrieged" the last 2. Lesson learned...I think I will use firestorm next time so the damage stays more local rather than traveling all over the freakin board.
Absolutely ;-) I am probably in the upper echelon for age on this forum. |
