What difficulty do each of those drop on?

I still don't quite follow why they're priced so high. For an item you'll use for such a little period of time (maybe 6hours if MP10 rushing?). Even so there's likely level reduction items that are base ilvl 50 that can out DPS it?

They're "priced" in the hundreds of millions, but I doubt anyone is buying them. They are well worth a 50 MM gold investment for a professional power-leveler. I'm sure they retain the same sets of ideal leveling gear which they use on each account. A 600 dps weapon for levels 30-42 would dramatically decrease the time required for those levels until they can move to their ilvl 63 reduced level equipment. For someone power-leveling a dozen characters each week, a one-time 50 MM Gold investment makes a lot of sense.

For the general folks, they "rent" one from the AH, leveling their characters and selling them back when they're finished with it. If you're looking to power-level four characters yourself, would saving 6-8 hours be worth 7.5 MM Gold to you? Now that I know they exist, if I ever get around to leveling characters other than my DH, I'll be renting a decent 5-10 MM Spectrum for to get each one through to my best level-reduced weapons.

from what i heard... lots of botters are buying them to lvl up their bots
especially with all the ban waves, they need to start over

level 55 which i thought was a bit odd for inferno but I'll take it, seems worth about 1.5M

Sold today for 1.8M, after the prices fluctuated crazy amounts between 1.7M and 700K I stuck to my guns at 1.8 and it sold :) I tried listing it on RMAH but no luck there.

I guess the market for leg plans is interesting right now!

I want to say the burger at least drops in any difficulty, but I'm not too sure. I found the one I posted in Inferno, but I found another a long time ago (it's a legacy one, found in like 1.0.2 I think) I believe in Hell.

It's not the difficulty that's important, it's the affix levels. In Inferno with at least MP1 (for Act 1 and 2, but only MP0 for Acts 3 and 4), all items have the possibilities to drop with the best affixes. That's the reason you get such a high dps on a clvl 30 item. This isn't possible on other low-level items since only ilvl 58 items drop in Inferno now. To get one of the 50 million Gold Spectrums you need to be running at MP1 to get an alvl 63 min damage affix.

This is clearly an oversight by Blizzard and I would bet that it's going to be fixed as early as 1.0.7. If you have money to invest, a high dps Spectrum may be a good speculation opportunity, because like Nat's Legacy sets, they'll probably never drop again after 1.0.7 hits. If the PTR notes in the coming weeks include a note about fixing Spectrum drops you could see a 100+% return on investment overnight. I doubt the 300 dps ones will jump that much in value, but the high end certainly could.

If it is fixed, then when the next ban wave comes, botters may lose some of the existing market's high dps Spectrums. Since no more would ever drop, the 500-600 dps Sepctrums will be worth even more.

Now look forward to the expansion pack in 2014-2016. There will have been a dozen ban waves by then each reducing the high dps Spectrum market further. Now imagine the expansion creates two new classes. 10,000s of players will all want a Level 60 Tiger Warrior Princess Shaman as soon as possible. What's the best way to get the fastest Lvl 60? High dps Spectrum!

Assuming Blizzard does see the alvl 63, clvl 30 Spectrums as an oversight, the best long-long-long investment in the entire market right now is the high dps Spectrum. A Patch 1.0.6 500 dps Spectrum that costs 40 million Gold now could be briefly worth billion(s) by the time an expansion hits. (of course, by then, inflation may mean you can get 10 billion Gold for 1 USD...)

Just this morning I've found one on almost every Purple encounter. Even found a 'pack of purples' which was wierd.... Team Unicorn, which is a reference to a buncha girls in real life I guess.

Yah, Team Unicorn is the group of four hot women who sang the Geek & Gamer Girls song

After almost two weeks w/o playing Diablo (cause I was on vacation in Australia), had my best session today in terms of legendary items: Picked up four in a couple of hours this evening! One Windforce, one Stone of Jordan (for WD), and two pieces of the Blackthorne's Set (belt & pants)! Don't think any of them are worth an astronomical amount on the AH, but it's the most I've ever gotten in a single session.

Nope, I just go to whimsey, look for a purple and leave. I shouldn't have said that though, because I haven't found a single one since.
