I like flawless squares and tomes right now. Just waiting for all those people speculating to panic sell, and then I'm all in.

I think emeralds will go from 6k to 10k back to under 5k in the course of this week.

Final tally for me on gems, was 10,540,747 spent, 18,141,407 returned after AH cut for a 72% ROI. I did pretty well all things considered.

For the 3rd patch in a row, Flawless Square Topazes were the best ROI peaking briefly around 1500 Gold for a peak ROI of 112% if someone was playing those exclusively. I had a stack of Rubies go at 3485, but none at 4985 so it never jumped really high. None of my Amethysts set at 1985 so I missed the mark there. As nuhertz said, Flawless Square Emeralds saw absolutely no bump, but are up to 8k after the rush to sell off.

@DePablo was right in that there was a premium on Perfect Square briefly. Unlike my suggestion, Rubies have held their value and even now are currently at a 12% ROI after all fees.

Tomes ended up being a moneymaker with them still selling at 1450 Gold.

The other mats were, obviously, the big bust. All crafting mats only went down as the AH was opened after the patch went live. If you sold last night, you made a decent profit. If you waited until this evening, you didn't make much at all.

The market is extremely volatile right now in certain areas, so I held off selling anything, as I was dissatisfied in the potential ROI% with regards to gems, tomes, and mats.

The best advice I can give as of 11AM EST on 2/13 now that we're one day live on 1.07 is to deal in crafted plans of all kinds. In the past 24 hours, I have made a huge profit (~100mil) from people who don't even bother to look at the patch notes to learn what crafted items are and how they operate (let alone research the AH prices) but instead just want the shiny new toy immediately. These people have seemingly limitless resources to spare.
