what did you buy, and how much did you get it for?

This topic inspired me to shop for bargains again... Found a Traveler's Pledge for 20k that has Crit Chance on it with some average damage.

People who run Echoing Fury's like using a cold damage Stone of Jordan to somewhat mitigate the fear effect.

@Bort

Shift-click attacking can also help. I often run in, cast blinding flash, cast sweeping wind, cast serenity, and then just shift-click attack everything. It prevents me from wasting time chasing a single mob while doing obscene AOE damage from all the tornadoes.

@Bort

When I solo farm I only farm lower MPs (up to 2). In my MP7 group uber runs, we have no problem with the fear.

I didn't clarify that I have a Wizard friend who helps to freeze everything in sight, when you are freezed you can't be feared!

@Metta

Please remind me what shift-click do? And why do you have to cast serenity?

Also, after considering your advice, I re-listed my Nats Boots for 19+ millions and its ownership was transferred (woot, profit!).
I also re-listed my Nats Rings. Found a 8 million rings with Dex, FR, AS, CD which complements my overall gearing.

@douvinsky Shift+click makes your character stay in place and attack. So it stops you from moving due to a click. I use it all the time with my DH, just never occurred to me to use it on a melee char.

..... just never occurred to me to use it on a melee char.

But it's very useful on weapons and skills with higher melee range so you won't get hit as you can stay a bit away. Used this especially on my monk and barb in the beginning :)

I always use force attack when using deadly reach...the whole point of it is to attack from a distance, away from any nasty pools of goo on the ground.

Thunderclap can still teleport you away if you target a mob while holding shift. If you really want to stay still you need to shift and click in the direction of the mob but not select anything so you won't teleport.

I'm using Imgur. It might just look really clear to you because I have my Diablo 3 in max resolution since I use my 32 inch TV as my monitor.

@Nightcrawler9

Dude you got good bargains!
I remembered seeing a dex Witching Hour with 48% crit listed for 45m and it was a 1d12 hour item, but too bad I did not have enough to buyout! Ring is not bad either, although without primary stats (probably that's why less demand/searched!)

nice deals on both. attack speed on the ring would have been Whimsyshire wonderful but we dont all live in Jay Wilsons mansion. LOL, if we did you would have gotten two of each because he "doubled it" haha

I bought various things:

1) 30 million Vile Ward

I think it is a deal. I acted fast despite the 30m tag.

2) 8 million rings

Not sure if this is a deal. I am reselling my nats rings fro this cheaper version.

3) 100k rings

Not great on the DPS but looks like a value for money version of big HP rings for hello 100k.

if you have a nats ring, i wouldn't sell it... if you couple it with at least 1 other piece, the set bonus is 7% cc! thats huge!

5 million Skorn. CD is on the low side but the Dex/ Vit seems like a bargain for 5 millions.

I just picked this up for 50k http://morath.comxa.com/shield.jpg which, I think, just goes to show how badly PvP is needed.

for pvp, i think this is a great buy... but who knows when that'll come? i can't hang onto a shield in my inv that long.. i've vendored so many shields of the same stats...

i paid 3.5m for these shoulders and i'm not happy about it... but i got sick of looking and just decided to pull the trigger on a pair with pick up radius

Yeah shouldn't have done that! Haha. Unless prices on them have gone up since the last time I looked, you could have gotten a Vile Ward with pick up radius for 4 million or so.

Edit: Actually nevermind. It wouldn't have had vitality and ones with 190 Int and pick up radius are 6 million for the cheapest buyout.

I saw a few similar vile wards yesterday that looked like they ended around 3-3.5 mil if you don't buyout. I paid a bit over 3 mil for the ones currently on my wiz. Even if you have to pay another mil or 2, I think it's worth it to have ~4-500 armor & 25 AR rather than 73 vit, especially as a CM wiz.
