You actually have excess amounts of tomes? I've been trying to loot them up like a madmen. Gems and item crafting never ends...

O.O I stop crafting. I am satisfied with the rolls on my Int Shoulder and DPS+Survival AB bracers, and I am not going to go against the probability of getting good rolls on Amulets and gloves. Hence, might as well seize the opportunity to sell them at high prices in the AH! This also means I will have an insane amount of excess Demonic Essences at the end of the day since they are not sinked. Sadly they are account bound. |

So last night @zerokewl was checking with me on the prices of Zunimassa Vision. We were talking about those entry levels version which cost at least a couple of millions at hardcore. I was doing a price check at the AH. For a moment I thought there was a bug because I am seeing pages of Zuni Vision at 50k buyout each, which is even less than 20% of the price of brimstone at hardcore. I nearly pressed the buyout for all of them, then I realised that I was staring at softcore GAH lol.
At hardcore, the legs worth much more, even at brimstone level. Every time a leg drop it would keep me in suspense for a while and I always portal to town to identify it and stash it before continue the run. |

Traded some Enchantress Focus:
Sold this Devotion End for 1.4m, and won a bid on this Scorched Keepsake for just over 1m during the maintenance. With Scorched Keepsake, my enchantress babe can now do 10.2k DPS, she is also extremely helpful in keeping me safe with her skills (I love it when the threathening elites are turned into some little chicken! ), and the summoned creatures from Maximus. She deserves a better necklace! BTW I stop selling tomes and essences and tears. With the upcoming changes, probably rares will be harder to loot and their vendor value might be increased by Blizz. So my strategy is just keep salvaging and stash them. |

Can you roll better defense than that? High Vit, High AR and double socket. Reasonably talking about +280 Vit and 70 Int. The only better affixes would be Life % instead of Poison Resist and arguably Armor over Life Regen, but Life Regen is good stuff, too. 4 ideal mods out of 6 and all 6 hitting affix level 63? Pretty incredible find. |

Darn, I could have underpriced it lol. Saw something similar with higher stats in AH for 20m, not sure it was with or without regen in my search. Then I made a decision of selling it much cheaper. Next time, I should test the market with higher buyout first or send you a price check! |

What do you think of this other pair of pants? It was sitting in my stash, I was reserving it for my upcoming barb, but would be tempted now to sell it for a ridiculous buyout in the AH, since I can't find a similar pair of pants. I will proceed to check similar but with Dex/ Intel just to get a feel of the price level, unless there are different demand across different classes? |

@douvinsky I'm no expert in hardcore so I'm not really sure. I could make statements on the previous pair, because I knew the mods, affixes and rolls were top notch. The second set of pants is in the 60s for AR instead of the 70s, the Strength is 50s and the Armor is only decent. I would think it has quite a bit of value, but it's not necessarily going to jump right near the top of searches for pants.
The general AH stands. Figure out the price you're willing to give it up for and put it up for buyout for 3 days. If it sells, you're happy with the Gold, if it doesn't sell then you have piece of mind that you were right all along to keep it for your barb. Win-Win |

Thanks. From my searches I think it should worth at least a couple of millions, but shouldn't go above 20 for rational buyers. I might just keep it for my barb unless I fetch a ridiculous irrational buyout. |

If you want some gold I'd love these for my upcoming barb. Maybe we can trade or something.

Not really in need of gold. Just keeping it for my barb atm. Btw tome reached 30k a piece. I cashed out on these. I can always loot more from my runs, and I rarely craft. |

My question really is.
Why are prices rising now? Is demand up currently or is the predicted demand raising prices artificially to an unsustainable lvl. |

I believe the sudden surge in demand for tomes is caused by:
1) new HC players reaching 60 and hoping to craft good rolls ABs, and high level gems. These 60s are most likely just converted from SC and have been paying for power leveling services ie they are rich enough to pay for mats. 2) some existing old 60s who have recently gotten richer, and seeking to improve their AB gears. Now they need tomes instead of selling them. 3) could be speculation activity for future patch but I think HC players do not speculate as much as SC in that they will buy and stock them. However, in view of uncertainties players might stock what they looted instead of selling them hence it affect the supply side. In any case I just seize the day. I still have billions of mobs to kill over my lifetime and they will drop me whatever I need. |

Hardcore GAH is exciting. Yesterday I found it difficult to list my Intel Depth Diggers with 2 sockets for 10m since there is another pair in the AH for 7m. Today the cheapest in AH for 2 sockets is 80m and I quickly list mine with 8-18m and it was bought out in no time. I paid like 6m for it when I started gearing my WD, so I am happy with whatever I got. What I am trying to say is that timing is the key. On your Blackthorne's Spurs, I am not too sure. The dex is less than 100, I would say it should cost less than 20m for me, if I can find a comparable pair with vital instead of resist for less than 10m. However, there are not many pairs with resist in the AH. So for people who only search for resist, you may be able to price it higher and hope they make the buy decision before a rational analysis. BTW, sold these two leveling ammies for 4m (Flavor of Time, bought 600k, used and sold) and 1m (looted by my barb in Normal). |

The HC GAH is exciting... and frustrating. A week ago, when I had no cash, single stat dex Mempos were listed for 30-35 million, last night they are double that and I have a hard time pulling the trigger... Call it cheapness if you like. :) I prefer frugal! I also checked on a nice dex socketed 6% extra fire Andariels helm for 18 million. Almost clicked buyout, but hesitated, 5 minutes later gone... Sold my Nat's Reflection for 275 million - net 233,750,000. Bought some tomes and gems - filled up my Manticore. Still have gear to switch around, but I am hoping to gear up for some ubers...

@JJK59 Oh, I was wondering what big sell you made to craft those gems.
At first, I was gonna say you need more life leech to fight uber siege, but your gloom should do the job. Might want more vit though... |

Agreed, my crafts were not very successful last night, so I was checking out what I could do with my gear "as is" when you joined. I was more interested in seeing the damage I was doing, than actually killing... I put bids in on some items that should have already ended, so will see how that goes, otherwise I will be crafting again...

Regarding Andy. I looted this Dex Andy with high roll on Poison Nova (36%) and low roll on Fire Damage (9%). Random roll is 12%MF instead of a wanted socket.
I have been asking about its worth but no reasonable offer is presented yet, although a monk said this Andy (Poor Man's Mempo) is reasonably good for poison monk with the high and low rolls, MF is not bad either. I have been thinking of switching to poison monk since I would like to give this helm a try, moreover its 36% Poison Nova, which deals 11k normal, helps to overcome my paranoid about disconnect when I am playing solo. I have been seeking its auction worth, if you guys have any inputs let me know. Anyway, I saw this other Dex Andy in AH (Poison 35%, Fire 11%) with socket, with open bid 4m but no buyouts. To me, this Andy in AH should be better than mine with its open socket (14% life gem should be better than the extra 2% difference in fire damage). I actually place my bid (and got outbid), just to satisfy my curiousity of how much people are driving the bids up. I should be able to watch how much its bid is going up if lots of people are bidding, although I would miss out on the last couple of seconds last minute high bids. @JJK59 since you have been watching, how much are you willing to pay for either of this? One more thing to note is players who recently got lucky with selling a big item tends to be less careful in making impulse purchase (it is more about me really). |

@douvinsky I really would only be looking for socketed andariel's at this point and I would want at the most 7% additional fire. I had a socketed 9% on my last DH and it worked well, but I was always worried when I saw jailer desecrator packs. To check out how powerful the helm is I bought one similar to yours with10%, no socket for 700k a month ago (no MF though), maybe 40 vit. After I decided I liked it, I bought the 9% socketed one for 6.5 million which I thought was a good buy and I sold the test helm for 1.5 million in a couple hours. I don't think the nova damage does much, as I let a fallen hit me, it hurt him, but I wouldn't think it would save you in a DC situation. There are just too few Andys for sale with low damage and a socket...

Thanks for your inputs. Do you know if the % Fire Damage is before or after mitigation from resist and armor? If after it would be too hurtful to bear. Your 700k is a good deal and I even thought 1.5 millions is still low for this Poor Man's Mempo with low % Fire Damage. About DC situation, I am thinking more of putting every pieces together. This is just a thought for now though:- 1. High Life Regen on top of High EHP 2. Enough tanks+DPS from Enchantress, Maximus, Earth Ally 3. Damage to attackers including that from Andy (every bit counts, imagine a few hits from Andy can actually kill one or two crucial mobs) |
