Aether Walker

Wand

The AetherWalker is a wand that requires level 70 to drop and originally only dropped during the season one for seasonal characters. After season one , it became available again at normal levels. There's more than just its rare property holding this weapon in power! The unique manipulation of Teleport has been replaced with an ability known as Arcane Power; giving you unlimited amounts if Pure Energy while also reducing your cool down time down from 5 seconds all together (to 0) simply by using them normally when equipped onto yourself or another person who owns their own set ( Teleport no longer has a cool down but costs 25 Arcane Power.) The patch 2.3 has introduced some interesting changes to the game that could potentially change how players play! The first of these is a way for you, as an classes with no resources whatsoever and limited abilities at their disposal; get rid of those pesky cool downs by using Teleport instead (all without spending any arcane power points or casting time on top). With Wormhole now available in combat (and free!), there's also another option when traveling across realms via portal devices like seen before...though this trip will cost just 0 cast-time but leave behind 1 second total post Activation.

Item Details

  • This item was an exclusive Season 1 drop, but now can be found anywhere as of Patch 2.1.2 and the end of Season 1.
  • Seasons do not exist in the Console (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) versions of the game. But these items can still be found.

This wand reduces the cooldown of Teleport to half of a second. Blizzard Community Manager Tyvalir explained the reason for this as follows:

"Although Aether Walker removes most of the cooldown on Teleport, it leaves a half-second "safety net.” This is because when we were testing the legendary power, we discovered a bug that caused people to double-teleport when they didn’t intend to do so, often putting them in harm’s way or costing them AP that they didn’t mean to spend. While this means you won’t teleport quite as quickly as you would without a minor pause, the fix also prevents you from having to be very precise in how long you (hold) down the mouse button without wasting AP or putting you in danger."
